How Ready Are Students For Live Learning Online?
Over the last few decades, education has changed significantly. Traditional classroom-based classes have been replaced by online learning methods that offer the flexibility of pre-recorded courses with class meetings that are held using real-time videoconferencing software. However, these online methods can still fall short for students who prefer the real-time interaction of a live classroom.
Live learning online is an alternative to these other online learning strategies that allows students and instructors to communicate in real-time via a videoconferencing program like Zoom. Students are given the chance to ask questions, dispel confusion, and gain a more understanding of the content of the class.
While live learning has numerous benefits, some students may have difficulty adjusting to this type online learning. This study explores student ability to live learn and identifies the core factors that determine it. The findings show that major factors that affect the student’s readiness include motivation to learn through online communication, self-directed learning ability. Researchers also carried out a post-hoc assessment and multi-group analysis to examine gender differences in undergraduate, graduate, and sub-degree students. It was found that postgraduates have higher readiness in most aspects of live learning compared to undergraduate and sub-degree students.
To ensure that students are adequately prepared for an Live Session it is suggested that instructors provide clear expectations of what they need to know and do prior to and after online business training with vdr the session. Instructors should also create activities to reinforce what students have learned – such as reviewing, practicing, debating, and analyzing.
